Students specialise in the performance area of music and are able to choose a combination of solo or ensemble pathways on instrument or voice. The structure of the course consists of 6 units in total; one compulsory unit, a choice of 2 mandatory units and a further choice of optional units. All units are focused around developing skills and progressing towards a career in music. Tasks include practical activities, workshops, community work, research and reflective tasks and written assignments and verbal presentations.

Your teacher will assess your evidence when a task is completed against the criteria, and award you Pass, Merit or Distinction. You must achieve a Pass in all tasks to achieve an overall Pass for a unit. The exam board will request work to externally verify.
