Media Studies

UPDATED 20161104 14:12:17

The Advanced Level Media course challenges students to consider the nature of Media in contemporary society in contrast to media products historically. Students will analyse a range of media products and forms in relation to the context in which they have been made. Through practical coursework, students take on many roles including: photographer, editor and director. The new syllabus requires students to consider the global nature of media and contemporary media in the digital age. The examination also challenges students to study current debates in media. All this is underpinned by the study of media language, institutions, audience and representation.
