This exciting new course explores five great European cities at Pivotal moments during their development. In each session we will concentrate on a particular decade to examine the iconic paintings, sculptures, buildings, design, costume and personalities which define the spirit of that particular city. Beginning with Florence during the Renaissance and ending with Naples at the height of its appeal to tourists, painters and poets at the end of the 18th century, this course will appeal to anyone with an interest in culture, art, history, languages or travel.
