You should have a keen interest in helping people in a Health and Social Care and Early Years settings. The course offers students the opportunity to study and develop communication skills and techniques needed to work within this sector. Understanding how good health is promoted by professionals within the Health industry and the outcomes for the health of the individuals who use different health and social care settings Apply theoretical knowledge learned in the classroom to practical and workplace situations which form part of the assessment requirements. Observe and interview healthcare and early years professionals about their job roles to understand the responsibilities involved in the care of others, including the care values and relevant legislation. Any previous work experience or voluntary work already carried out in healthcare and Early Years settings along with access to family members or friends who work in the Care industry, will be of benefit to students who choose this course but will not disadvantage students who do not have any previous experience. Careers and courses leading from this qualification range from Childcare work, nursing and healthcare management, as well as other indirect careers such as police work, teaching and youth work.
