Computer Science has developed over the past forty years in almost every aspect of our personal and our professional lives. As the industry continues to grow, and evolve, so will competition for the most satisfying and highest-paying jobs. It is therefore imperative that anyone considering a career in computer science stays up-to-date with current and future industry trends. This A Level can help prepare students to be not only for a career in computer science, but to become logical thinkers, capable of decomposing any problem and developing an algorithm to solve it. It is a broad based course where students will gain a sound understanding of the internal structure of computers and how they operate. A large part of the course will be spent studying programming and developing skills in expressing solutions to problem solving using algorithms. Minimum entry requirements are 5 GCSE's grade A*-C (or 4-9) including English and Mathematics.
