The AQA AS/A level Music course encourages listening, creating musical ideas and performing skills, all of which can be developed in a wide range of musical styles. 'Influences on Music' is the listening and analysing unit, which builds on knowledge and understanding developed at KS4. Students study a wide range of musical genres from Classical to Popular music or musical theatre. They are are taught composition skills using either Sibelius or Logic software to present their final compositions. Both solo and ensemble performances for the examination at AS level. These may be on any instrument or voice and could include technology-based performances.
