Photoshop - Introduction

Want to learn how to remove parts of a photograph and combine several images together? Then this course is for you! Photoshop will be used to apply image editing techniques to enhance restore and manipulate images. The course will cover more photo-editing skills than photography (See our alternative Creative Photography course). The exact version of the software will vary from centre to centre. What experience or skills do I need to join this course?No qualifications are needed but you need to be a confident computer user with the ability to use the mouse and keyboard. A creative mind and a keen interest in digital photography will also help you get the most out of the course. If you feel that you need to brush up your skills before starting this course there is also a 5-week Compact Cameras and Photo Editing - First Steps course available. What is the course about?The aim of the course is for you to be able to help improve your photography techniques and then edit/retouch images. Editing techniques covered include: Changing brightness/contrast/colour Removing specific areas of an image Combining several images together (montages) Repairing/restoring images Adding text to an image Hand-outs and exercises will be supplied by the tutor to support your learning.   For the first session you will need:  Pen and notebook/paper   Additional costs and/or resources:  There are no additional costs   How will I know how I am getting on? Your progress and achievements will be recognised and recorded throughout your course in a number of ways.
