Creative Photography - Learn to Use Your DSLR

This course is suitable for all makes and models of DSLR (Digital SLR) and bridge-type cameras with the facility to change Aperture Shutter Speed and ISO. If you have been using your camera to just point-and-shoot why not explore the manual settings and get creative! The course will help you understand how the different camera controls affect your images. Topics covered include composition techniques to improve your images use of filters and what they can achieve changing aperture shutter speed and ISO. The course also discusses using RAW format and its uses. Also included is downloading images from camera to computer and file management. Time is also spent exploring basic retouching techniques.What experience or skills do I need to join this course? No qualifications are needed but some experience of using a DSLR or bridge-type camera together with basic computer knowledge is useful to get the most out of the course.What is the course about?The aim of the course is for you to be able to take your camera off auto setting and explore the creative side of photography: Setting white balance Using Exposure Compensation to control backlit subjects Use Aperture to control Depth-of-Field Filters: when to use and what they achieve Control ISO Composition: improve/creative techniques Use Shutter speeds/shutter priority for creative control of movement An introduction to photo-editing Handouts and exercises will be supplied by the tutor to support your learning.For the first session you will need: Pen and paper Camera (DSLR or Bridge-type) Camera manual (if available)Additional costs and/or resources: There are no additional costsHow will I know how I am getting on?Your progress and achievements will be recognised and recorded throughout your course in a number of ways.
