This one day course will provide an introduction to the fascinating science of astronomy. We will concentrate on objects currently on view in the night sky and use these as the basis of our discussion. Any space or astronomy stories in the news will be considered. What experience or skills do I need to join this course?No prior experience required - just lots of enthusiasm. What is the course about? The aim of the course is to enthuse participants about astronomy and provide them with the opportunity to discuss the subject with like-minded people. Learn how to recognise the stars and planets currently on view in the night sky. We will talk about how findings from space probes has changed our knowledge of the planets. For the session you will need:Notebook and pen** There will be no refreshment facilities during the day so please bring a packed lunch and drink.
