This course combines an academic study of the theatre with the development of students' own skills. It is ideal for those who have a strong interest in drama and the theatre or have experience or evident talent in one particular area. The course is a creative, active and collaborative course, intellectually, physically and emotionally demanding of students, and assessed through a mix of written exams and performance. This course is ideal for those who have an interest in acting and play texts. It gives a range of skills and opportunities that can be used in creative and collaborative work, and that appeal to universities and employers looking for well-rounded individuals with broad skills and experiences. An AS/A-level qualification in Drama reflects a high level of creativity, presentation skills, organisation and focus, as well an ability to work as a team player. It is excellent preparation for the wide range of Performing Arts courses available at University and Drama School. Students will need experience of stage or design work, considerable enthusiasm and the ability to work as part of a team.
