Studying History provides you with a great opportunity for enquiry, discussion and debate. This fantastic course offers you a chance to delve into important events in British, German and American democracy. Key topics include extending the franchise, the abolition of slavery and the Civil Rights Movement in America; studying History will enable you to not only investigate some of the most fascinating moments in history but also help you draw parallels to current political issues. The course develops your analytical skills through the scrutinising of cartoons, speeches, novels, films and government letters in order to enable you to form sound opinions and interpretations of significant events that have helped shape the world today. You will participate within a range of group discussion, debate and independent tasks over the course in order to develop your literacy and presentation skills. History is a highly regarded subject by employers and universities alike and History graduates apply to a wide range of degree courses such as Law, Politics, Journalism, Accountancy, Media and International Relations. History can also lead to exciting job opportunities such as working within government office, European and human rights divisions, leading corporate companies and roles within the media and entertainment industry.
