The new specification will help nurture a passion for Biology, lay the foundations for further study and careers in biological sciences and medicine. There are both practical and theoretical elements that allow the students to develop their knowledge of all the core life processes and understand the application of these in the real world. First Year of A Level: Biological Molecules/Cells/Organisms exchanging substances with their environment/Genetic information, variation and relationships between organisms. Second Year of A Level: Energy transfers in and between organisms/Organisms respond to changes in their internal and external environments/Genetics, populations, evolution and ecosystems/The control of gene expression
