Watercolour - Further Skills

This course is ideal for those who have previously attended a watercolour class or worked in watercolour independently. It will enable the learner to further develop their skill in using this exacting medium by honing techniques such as washes, wet-on-wet and dry-brush, and increasing knowledge of colour mixing and composition. The tutor will guide learners on an individual basis to allow for personal artistic development. Included in the course may be the opportunity to work outside en plein air, either making sketches to work on back in the classroom, or painting in situ A range of themes will be studied which could include landscape, figures, still life, animals, abstraction and any others decided upon by the group as a whole. You will also learn about other artists both traditional and contemporary who have used this medium The course is not suitable for those who have no experience of watercolour.
