Learn to Draw and Paint

On this course you will explore a range of drawing and painitng skills using pencil, charcoal and water based painting media such as watercolours or acrylics. The topics you may cover include: Pencil- Drawing with line, shading, mark-making to show textures. Charcoal - Creating a ground to work into, making marks and textures, smudging, lifting away with a rubber, using a rubber as a drawing tool. Watercolours - Washes, using a range of brushes, mixing colour, colour thoery and using a limited palette, textures. Acrylics - Impaso style, painting with a knife, colour mixing Themes may include still life, landscape, seascapes, flowers, people, and buildings.
