The Apprenticeship includes training in Basic Carpentry & Joinery skills, Plumbing, Bricklaying, Plastering, Painting and Decorating to facilitate building maintenance and Health & Safety Awareness. Apprentices also study specific units alongside training and assessment in the following units of competence at Level 2: General Workplace Safety Move and Handle Resources Efficient Work Practices Principles of Building Construction Functional Skills will be a mandatory part of your programme and followed at the appropriate level. These will provide you with the practical skills to work confidently, effectivey and independently. They open doors to learning, to life and to work. These skills are valued by employers and further education and are a platform on which to build other employability skills. Better functional skills can mean a better future - as learners or as employees and in everyday life. Functional Skills are essential skills in English, Mathematics and ICT that enable everyone to deal with the practical problems and challenges of life - at home, in education and at work.
