You will gain valuable knowledge and insights into the various aspects of engineering and the marine industry and gain the flexibility to meet both current and future engineering practices. The programme is a mixture of practical and theory work and you will be shown how the theory relates to the practical work you do. There are six units to study, three mandatory and three support units. Mandatory evidence routes: Working safely in an engineering environment; Working efficiently and effectively in engineering; Using and communicating technical information. Support evidence routes: Using wood for pattern, model making and other engineering applications; Assembly pattern, model and engineering woodwork components; Producing composite mouldings using wet lay-up techniques. As part of your programme you will also complete Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT at the correct level for your programme. You may also complete the wider key skills: Working With Others and Improving Own Learning & Performance.
