Course shortcode: CHE01 A Level Chemistry provides excellent preparation for a career in almost any industry and is usually required by universities for careers in medicine, dental surgery, veterinary surgery, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical science, biotechnology, biochemistry and forensics. During the course you will undertake experimental work, as well as learn and apply a deep and exciting understanding of chemistry and chemical processes. You will develop practical skills which will enable you to collect accurate results and data to form logical conclusions. Processes include titrations, organic synthesis, thermochemistry and analysis. Practical lessons will be incorporated into the course to enhance your learning and understanding of the subject - to illustrate chemical concepts and to bring context into the lessons. Practical understanding will be assessed, along with the normal written papers at the end of the course. The study of AS and A Level Chemistry involves the exploration of organic (including biochemistry), inorganic and physical chemistry to provide a broad spectrum of knowledge and the opportunity to understand and appreciate the world around us in a new and deeper way.B in Maths and B grade in Chemistry OR BB in Double Award Science required (This must be Core and Additional not core/applied and a B must be in Chemistry)
