7136 AQA Economics. Economics is the study of economic concepts and theories through a consideration of economic issues, problems and institutions that affect everyday life. No prior knowledge of economics or business studies is needed. At AS Level you will look at the operation of markets and market failure, understanding the economic problem, how prices are set, the market mechanism, market failure, government intervention and failure. You will learn about the national economy in a global context, understanding measurement of macroeconomic performance, demand and supply and government policy. For the full A Level you will also learn about different markets, income and the distribuytion of wealth and the international economy.
