Part 2 of the Life Skills course - a course designed to develop and promote independent living skills focusing on social, cooking, communication and general life skills aimed at progressing students into employment or further learning. This course is suitable for learners with more complex and profound learning difficulties or disabilities, and aims to improve independence skills. After completing the qualification students will have the option to enrol on various other SLDD courses, including skills for working life and performing arts. The course consists of a variety of units which help students develop and improve their skills in various areas, including the following: • Shopping • Basic food preparation • Personal safety • Community participation • Safety in the home.
