What will I do on this study programme? This study programme is a 12-unit barbering qualification including subjects such as cutting and styling men's hair, and client consultation for hair services. You will learn and practice barbering skills on clients and mannequin heads in our state-of-the-art salons. The course focuses on the underlying principles and practical skills which are required for gaining employment in the barbering industry. This study programme has been specifically designed to develop your knowledge and practical skills which you will be able to put into practice in a real life commercial salon, gaining a realistic view of the ever evolving industry you are about to enter. As part of this study programme all learners are expected to undertake CollegePlus sessions, tutorials, and English and maths development sessions which combined, will prepare learners for further study and/or future employment. How will I be assessed? We will assess you all through the year with online tests, practical work, assignments and projects. You will also have an online gradebook that you will keep up-to-date and manage targets that your tutor sets you throughout the year. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Women's Hairdressing, Diploma, Level 2 Hair and Media Make-up, Diploma, Level 2 Barbering, Diploma, Level 3 Barbering, Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3. Job/career opportunities A career such as a practising barber.
