What will I do on this study programme? This is a work-related study programme and you will be set a number of projects that are based on realistic workplace situations. The topics that you will study, allow you to explore possible future career pathways. Throughout the study programme you will have the opportunity to work with employers and you will develop the knowledge required to gain employment in the IT industry (the Certificate or Diploma qualification only) or progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma qualification. During this study programme you will study a range of topics which will prepare you for a wide range of careers within the industry. These may include, cloud computing, multimedia, web development, software development, IT fault diagnosis, computing in the workplace, animation and technological systems. How will I be assessed? Observation of practical activities, group work, work based portfolio, presentations, coursework, online assessments and examinations. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to IT Practitioners, BTEC Extended Diploma (NQF), Level 3 IT Professionals, Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3. Job/career opportunities A career in the IT industry such as end user support technician, trainee IT support technician, IT helpdesk etc.
