What will I do on this apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job. You'll spend most of your week at work. You will also come to college one day a week for support and learn about the technical side of your job. You will learn about the fashion, textiles and retail industry. You'll also develop the practical skills you need to work in this fast-paced, competitive industry. You will cover units such as maintaining the quality of production working with textiles, leather and other materials, preparation for textile processing, cutting materials for manufacturing sewn products and carrying out the sewing process. How will I be assessed? We will assess your practical projects, written assignments and assess you at work throughout the study programme. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Fashion and Textiles, Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3. Job/career opportunities Clothing/textiles technologist, colourist, costume designer, embroidery designer, fashion designer, fashion predictor, fashion stylist, knitwear designer, pattern cutter/grader, tapestry designer, printmaker or textile designer.
