What do I need to get onto this apprenticeship? This qualification is ideal for anyone aged 16+ working in the adult social care sector in England. It forms the competency component of the Advanced Apprenticeship for Health and Social Care. We do recommend that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent, but this is not essential as support can be given to achieve them. What will I do during this apprenticeship? Subjects covered include principles of communication, personal development, diversity, equality and inclusion, safeguarding, implementing a duty of care, understanding the role of the social care worker, understanding person-centered approaches, health and safety and how to handle information in social care settings. How will I be assessed? This qualification is assessed in the workplace through the completion of a portfolio of evidence, which is compiled during the course and demonstrates that the learner has achieved the required assessment criteria. You will be assigned a personal, specialised assessor who will support you through monthly visits. Upon successful completion of the Level 3, learners may wish to progress their career Individuals achieving this qualification can progress on to the Level 4/5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care.
