What will I do on this apprenticeship? To achieve this apprenticeship you will need to complete a number of qualifications including the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership. This qualification underpins the role of an activity leader in the active leisure sector and is appropriate for individuals who are planning, delivering and evaluating activity sessions for a group of participants. It will ensure the apprentice gains the confidence and practical skills to assist, lead and instruct participants in a range of sporting and physical activity environments as well as acquiring knowledge of the sports sector. You will also take part in other component parts such as functional skills Maths and English where necessary. Plus you will undertake a vocational qualification such a Fitness Instructing, and Employment Awareness. Units you will study include Support the work of the team and organisation, Prepare for activity sessions, Lead activity sessions, Conclude and review activity sessions, Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation, Support equality and diversity in active leisure and recreation. How will I be assessed? You will build up a portfolio of evidence whilst in the workplace and assessments are carried out through projects, practical skills tests and observations of you at work. A personal assessor will make regular visits to your workplace to carry out reviews of your progress and to ensure that you are on target to gain your qualification. You will come to college at least one day per week. What options do I have after successfully completing? Progress to Sport or Sport and Exercise Science Level 3 qualification Public Services Level 3 qualification.
