Students will learn about the fashion industry and also develop their practical skills in fashion design and drawing, pattern cutting, textiles, garment construction and accessories covering a range of units. Both years of the course will be involved in producing garments for the Annual Art School Fashion Show. Students will also receive grounding in traditional art & design methods and the history of art. Life drawing is also studied to support fashion illustration. The course involves visits to relevant exhibitions & galleries including the Clothes Show. Drawing is intrinsic to the design process as is an openness to explore other art disciplines when researching.
