Over the duration of the course a wide range of mathematical disciplines will be studied, including Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Sequences and Trigonometry. The curriculum is divided into two-thirds pure mathematics and one-third applied mathematics (Statistics and Mechanics). Mathematics leads to almost any choice of higher education or employment. It is regarded as one of the most adaptable and flexible qualifications and is highly valued in the world of work and education. There has been a considerable increase in the uptake of mathematics degrees in recent years and the wealth of opportunities available to graduates is considerable. There are many other degrees which have a high level of mathematical content, and Advanced Level Maths is a requirement for degrees in Engineering, Physics and Computer Sciences.
