The Drama and Theatre course combines practical dramatic work with theoretical explorations of texts and theatre practitioners. There are three components in the full A Level course. Component One involves a devised group performance, for which students may be a performer or technical contributor. In Component Two, students again have the choice of performing or technically assisting in a lengthy play extract, as well as a monologue or duologue. Finally, Component Three is an exam which involves the study of a set text and chosen practitioner and a response to a live theatre performance. There will be theatre trips during the course and students are also encouraged to independently see as much live theatre as possible.
