The course is designed for students who wish to explore and extend their experience in working in 2D and 3D art. In the first year students will explore and create a range of art work from a range of disciplines, including painting, drawing, print making, textiles, sculpture, 3D, collage, photography and computer generated imagery. Students will be able to try out different materials and processes and explore the many ways artists and designers communicate visual ideas. In the second year, you have the opportunity to extend skills and knowledge with a more specialist focus, leading towards a final major project the emphasis will be on development, ideas and the creation of exciting and ambitious artwork in order to build an extensive and exciting portfolio. The course includes life and general observation drawing, art history lectures, short (one-day) projects, group project work and specialist workshops from visiting artists.
