This course is appropriate for support teaching staffs who work under close supervision of a class teacher e.g. teaching assistants, classroom assistants and teaching support assistants etc. It is suitable for candidates who: support pupils with learning activities, offer care and support to pupils, assist with additional support needs and/or support the wider work of the school. OCR Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF) In order to achieve the full certificate, candidates must achieve a total of30 credits. Mandatory units include child and young person development, safeguarding and welfare, communication and equality, diversity and inclusion etc.

Functional Skills will be delivered in localised training hubs in order to prepare learners for examinations. Employment Rights and Responsibilities will be assessed by completion of a workbook. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills will be evidenced through work and learning activities and completion of a workbook.
