This apprenticeship is about providing support in the classroom. After all, teachers aren't the only ones who make a difference to learning in schools. Learning support staff, such as teaching assistants, play a vital role in today's classrooms by making sure students get the most out of their lessons. They work with teachers, carry out duties like lesson preparation, and work with small groups or individuals, allowing the teacher to concentrate on teaching the class. Some learning support staff specialise in areas like music or special needs The Advanced Level Apprenticeship adds more responsibility to the role. You could help plan, carry out and evaluate a wide range of learning activities. You'll work both alongside the teacher to support classroom activities, and alone with individuals or groups of students. You role could include: Teaching/Classroom/Learning support Assistant Behaviour Support Assistant/Coordinator Pastoral/Welfare Support Assistant Bilingual Support Assistant Team Leader Optional units will be chosen to match the individuals job role. In addition they will acquire the skills and confidence to work more effectively and efficiently in your setting. In order to achieve the full certificate, apprentices must achieve a total of 44 credits of the level 3 diploma and a further 15 credits through functional skills. Mandatory units include Develop professional relationships with children, young people and adults, Promote children and young peoples positive behaviour, Support learning activities, Engage in personal development in health, social care or children's and young peoples settings.
