UPDATED 20161028 09:44:29

This course is designed for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the television and film industry. You will develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for success in higher education and employment. You will gain an excellent insight into the industry and work in our purpose built TV studio, with industry standard cameras, auto cue, virtual studio software and a specialist editing suite. The course involves a 'hands-on' practical approach in learning camera skills, directing, interview techniques and script writing, through 'live' projects, leading to a wide variety of film making. The range of projects that students may be involved in include fictional drama, comedy, gender in films, corporate videos, documentaries, music videos and news programmes. You will also learn to analyse moving images, understand how they were produced and learn about how the advertising, television and film industries work. Past students have been successful in having work selected for the Bradford Film Festival, competing nationally. You will be a part of our exciting production company (Springboard TV) and your work will be broadcast on the Internet TV channel springboardtv.com. The course provides the experience of a real working environment with production schedules, deadlines to meet and the opportunity to work with industry professionals. At the end of the year your work may be selected and shown to a wide audience at the College of West Anglia Film Festival and 'Oscars' evening.
