Finding Independence - Entry Level

The Bridge to Independence courses are programmes of further education for students with severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The courses are designed for young adults who have the potential to progress and the enthusiasm to continue learning in a safe and supported setting. The aim of the Finding Independence course is to help students reach their potential through learning. The course is designed to prepare students for adult life, with support and guidance the students are encouraged to negotiate their own learning programmes, make choices and decisions. The curriculum allows for experience in making drinks, cooking simple lunches, TITAN red award, and personal and social development.

Name: Finding Independence - Entry Level Qualification title: - Qualification type: Other regulated/accredited qualification Assessment Assessment is an on-going process and is regular throughout the academic year. Initially students are assessed on an individual basis by their tutors. Progress is measured through subject specific targets and through the verification of completed units. Subject specific targets are agreed with the student according to their own individual needs. These targets are regularly reviewed and updated via the online PDP system.
