This programme is a good introduction to a career in travel & tourism. Students will find out about the kinds of jobs involved in the industry, develop practical skills and investigate the destinations, travel and transport resources and arrangements for customers. Functional Skills You will be studying Functional Skills (Maths and English) as part of your course to enable you to progress onto Level-2 qualifications. Work Experience opportunity As part of the programme you will conduct a work placement in travel and tourism sector. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting. Enrichment Activities A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are lectures by guest speakers from leading travel experts Visits to various industry leaders, trade events or seminars. You will have an opportunity to participate in internal and external events where you will be able to show case your skills I-Learning Sessions This is additional time embedded in your programme for your study to promote independent learning. This time is used to work through assignments, complete homework activities and conduct wider reading and research. Support Tutorials Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course and provide you with professional guidance and support throughout the course. Personal Learning Plan Sessions A course tutor will be allocated to you on the programme. Your course tutor will be working with you to set realistic targets that will enable you to achieve your goals. Your targets will be monitored weekly by your tutor and yourself and actions plans and support put in place to assist you in achieving your targets
