Course comprised of four components. Component 1 covers language concepts and issues including analysis of spoken language and language issues. Component 2 covers language change over time based on the study of unseen written texts from different periods, linked by genre and English in the twenty-first century based on the study of the ways in which language is used distinctively in the twenty-first century. It is designed to introduce students to how language is evolving to reflect technological and cultural change. Component 3 covers creative and critical use of language and component four covers language and identify with students undertaking a language investigation.
