The Functional English Skills qualification is designed to give adults the English skills required to operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life. They have been created in response to employers' perceptions that more basic English skills are needed in order to achieve personal success.
Name: Functional Skills Certificate L1 English Qualification title: Functional Skills qualification in English Qualification type: Assessment Speaking and Listening Unit with approximate assessment time of 30 minutes. Reading Unit externally assessed and marked which is 45 minutes. Writing Unit externally assessed and marked which is 45 minutes. The reading and writing assessments have to be taken in monthly test windows which are set by the exam board, Edexcel.
