"Government and Politics is a challenging course that gives you a deeper understanding of the stories in the news each day. Studying politics will help learners understand the reasons behind recent changes in our society such as the rise in university tuition fees and the record levels of youth unemployment. Students are encouraged to think critically and logically, develop their independent study skills, and develop their own political passions and interests outside of the classroom. The course complements A-Level subjects such as History, English and Law due to its intensive focus on essay writing skills. It was recently recognised by the Russell Group of universities as a leading traditional A-Level subject."
