Myerscough College offers opportunity to study at level 3 (A level equivalent) for students who wish to develop a comprehensive understanding of Golf Studies - encompassing practical techniques, academic knowledge and technical skills. It is a popular option for both school leavers and successful Level 2 Diploma students. The course incorporates a mix of practicals, classroom lectures, industry visits and case study exercises. Students will also receive training and assessment in a range of additional qualifications, which will enhance their employability. The course allows learners to continue with their studies whilst competing and playing at a relevant level of golf specific to their ability. As part of the course learners get weekly lessons from PGA qualified coaches as well as the opportunity to take part in the Collegiate & Prospects Tours and gain work experience at European Tour Events. List of Units: Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport, The Physiology of Fitness, Assessing Risk in Sport, Exercise, Health and Lifestyle, Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise, Fitness Training and Programming, Sports Injuries, Psychology for Sports Performance, Physical Education & The Care for Young Children, Sports Coaching, Sports Nutrition, Technical and Tactical Skills in Sport, Sports Facilities & Operational Management, The Athlete's Lifestyle, Analysis of Sports Performance, Sport as a Business, Current Issues in Sport, Organising Sports Events, Rules, Regulations & Officiating in Sport. This list is an example of what may be taught, but can vary at each Centre. Employment opportunities in Golf and its related industries are currently very good. The Subsidiary, Diploma and Extended Diploma Golf Studies provide the qualification and experience for entry into the industry at an operational level with future prospects for management. As a course equivalent to A Level the Level 3 BTEC Diploma is an ideal spring board for progression to a Foundation
