Context The applied science sector is diverse and wide-ranging, including, for example, biomedical, forensic, physical and chemical sciences. There are approx. 5.8 million people employed in applied science occupations in the UK. The qualification allows students to develop their skills and knowledge in a field that will support their interest and future career options. What you will study Learners will study three mandatory units Unit 1 Principles and Applications of Science Unit 2 Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques Unit 3 Science investigation Skills. In addition some optional modules that will be chosen dependent on the students interests, from the following, Unit 8 Physiology of Human Body Systems Unit 10 Biological Molecules and Metabolic Pathways Unit 13 Applications of Inorganic Chemistry Unit 15 Electrical Circuits and their Application How You Will Be Assessed There are two elements, internal and external examinations.
