This is a two year programme with the first year containing the same modules as the HNC whilst the second year provides greater breadth and specialisation and is the equivalent to the 2nd year of a University Degree. The qualification prepares learners for employment in the IT sector. A key advantage of the course is that it allows flexible progression onto a Degree in Computing. During your first year you will study 8 HNC units, which includes 3 mandatory units and 5 specialist units. The structure of the programme provides an innovative and creative curriculum. To achieve the Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND, you will be required to study 8 HND units, which includes 1 mandatory and 7 specialist units. The structure of the programme provides an innovative and creative curriculum. Mandatory units include, Project design, implementation and evaluation. Specialist units could include, Quality systems in IT, Computer games design and development, Data analysis and design, Web applications development, Data structures and algorithms, Network security, and Internet server management. The course is delivered using a balance between practical and theory. We include e-learning, one-to-one support, events and speakers.
