If you are passionate about film, television and graphic design, and enjoy working in a creative, exciting environment, then studying Creative Media Production is the course for you. You will work within our fully functional TV Studio, creative editing suites, and photography studio to generate personalised projects relating to topics that interest you, and engage with local businesses to work on 'real world' projects. You will learn how to construct films, documentaries, music videos, live broadcasts, advertising campaigns, photography, posters, product packaging and much more. Your lecturers all have a working knowledge of the Media industry and are still actively involved in the business outside of the College, resulting in accurate, up to date knowledge being shared in lectures. In your first year you will study the 90 Credit Diploma. This can be standalone qualification that is equivalent to 3 AS levels. The Extended Diploma is completed in the second year and is equivalent to 3 A levels. You will study a total of 19 different units covering film, television, graphic design, photography, advertising and product design. You will also look at core Media issues relating to communication, research, planning and audiences. As a Media student you will have access to all of our art, design and media facilities, which include dedicated television studio, 2 iMac editing suites, photography studio and darkroom, and a creative art suite. You will also be using industry standard software. Work experience will be sourced with local employers to give you real world experiences that relate to the creative sector. You are supported in identifying organisations for your placements, or can generate these from your own contacts. You will go on trips regularly to visit places such as the Harry Potter studios, live television production, course related Museum visits, and a numerous 'team building' excursions. You will also have the chance to meet guest speakers.
