This course will cover aspects of knowledge, understanding and competency necessary for employment within the early year's sector. Success completion will result in 'assistant practitioner status', this allows you to undertake work in a supervised capacity within an early year's environment (0-8 years). There will be educational visits throughout the year with an end of year trip of learner's choice, this will be planned by learners as part of Enterprise activities. The department will support with trips however learners will be expected to make a contribution. A variety of guest speakers will be invited in throughout the course these including nursery, preschool, children's centres and school sector specialists.
