Diploma in Travel and Tourism (QCF)

This course is designed to provide you with a variety of skills for the world's largest industry. You will study areas of the tourism industry including: customer service, business, marketing, destinations, travelling, and cabin crew. You will study 6 units in the first year (a Subsidiary Diploma) and then progress onto Year 2 to complete a further 6 units (Diploma). Units could include: Investigating travel and tourism, The business of travel and tourism, Marketing travel and tourism products and services, The UK as a destination, Customer service in travel and tourism, Long haul travel destinations, Retail travel operations and Preparing for employment in the travel and tourism industry. Additional subjects studied are: City and Guilds Level 2 certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew, Spanish Entry 3 Double Award, City and Guilds Award in Worldwide Travel and Tourism destinations, City and Guilds Award in UK Travel and Tourism Destinations, City and Guilds Award in Travel and Tourism Support services. The course will include role plays, presentations, group work and the completion of practical tasks. You will also undertake a period of work experience which will be extremely useful in preparing you for your next steps in either employment or education.
