The AS units are: Performing Music - 5-6 minute performance - internally assessed. (30%/15%). Composing - 3 minute composition in response to a given brief - externally assessed. (30%/15%). Developing Musical Understanding - a 2 hour examination including a listening test, set works and harmony exercise. (40%/20%). The A2 units are: Extended Performance - 12-15 minute performance - internally assessed. (15%). Composition and Technical Study - portfolio of compositions and/or harmonic exercises externally assessed. (15%). Further Musical Understanding - 2 hour examination including a listening test and set work analysis. (20%).
