The AS units are: Cells Exchange and Transport - fundamental concepts, techniques and procedures in biology. It includes Animal and Plant Transport, Gaseous Exchange, Cells and Organisation. 1 hour examination (30%). Molecules, Biodiversity, Food and Health - giving an understanding of Biological Molecules, Enzymes, Diet and Food Production, Health and Disease, Biodiversity, Classification and Evolution.1 hour 45 min examination (50%). Practical Skills in Biology - these will be set by OCR but assessed in school (20%). AS course = 50% A2 The A2 units are: Communication, Homeostasis and Energy - covering Nerves, Hormones, Excretion, Respiration and Photosynthesis (30%). Control Genomes and Environment - covering Cellular Control, Variation, Biotechnology, Genomes and Gene technologies, Ecosystems and Sustainability. 1 hour 45 min examination (50%).
