"The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a qualification which has a teaching/training practice requirement. It is an in service qualification designed for those working or wishing to work as a teacher/trainer with the opportunity to progress to the PGCE/PCE. This qualification is also suitable for those delivering education and training in a varity of learning environments as it covers the underpinning knowledge understanding and skills required for session planning negotiating learning goals designing teaching design and use of resourtces amd learning and assessment strategies. Trainees will need a Level 3 qualification in their subject area with access to 30 hours of voluntary or paid teaching. It may be possible for preservice teachers/trainees (defined as those who are not formally contracted as teachers/trainers) to also complete this qualification. (Advanced Learner Loan is available for this course). Other costs: City & Guilds Registration fee £91; Exam Fee £15."
