From sketchbook to catwalk',' you will develop a broad range of creative and technical skills in fashion and textiles. In our specialist fashion studios',' you will independently produce innovative and inspirational designs that will feature in fashion shows and exhibitions. Through practical projects you will develop soughtafter skills by exploring practical elements such as design',' digital illustration',' pattern cutting',' garment construction',' textile techniques and drawing. You will also be required to complete a contextual studies assignment',' and throughout you will develop your portfolio of work',' for your next educational step or employment. You will also be required to sit four externally set practical examinations over the two years. At the end of your second year',' your designs will feature on the catwalk at the College end of year show. We place a strong emphasis on employability skills',' such as presenting ideas',' portfolio development and negotiating effectively with potential clients. Entry Requirements: Five GCSEs A*-C Grade',' must include English',' Maths and an art and design subject or a Level 2 First Diploma in Art and Design',' with C Grade GCSE in English and Maths. We will invite you to attend an interview and to show us your portfolio of art',' design or photography work. You also need a positive recommendation or reference from your school/tutor. Career Options: Progression to higher education or a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. Employment opportunities on completion of this course may include specialist apprenticeships',' or entry-level fashion and retail jobs.
