Duration: 1 year Combine practical experience with theory to prepare for a career in early years. You will develop communication and professional skills needed to work in the Early Years sector. Themes covered will include: - Introduction to the role of the Early Years practitioner - Legislation framework and professional practice - Play development and learning for school - Professional development As well as classroom-based learning',' there is a work placement for two days a week and a two week block in an early years setting. If you don't have a Grade C in either GCSE English or Maths',' you will study to resit these. You will be assessed by written assignment',' professional discussions and work-based assessment. Entry Requirements: You need four GCSEs including English and Maths',' at Grade D or above',' or a Level 1 qualification at merit or distinction and English and Maths functional skills. You will be interviewed and DBS checked',' which could affect your place on the Level 2 course. At interview',' you will need to demonstrate that you are a suitable candidate to work with children.
