Media studies introduces students to many forms of media institutions from TV sitcoms, reality shows, music videos, advertising and films. Media studies encourages students to question the power that the media has to select news, sell products and to question the techniques used to appeal to target audiences. Students will look at key concepts such as stereotyping, hybrid genres, representations of people and news selection and censorship.
