Biology is fascinating, complex and involves studying everything from the molecular structure of cell components to animal behaviour and the interactions of organisms with their environment and each other. A-level Biology looks at the different types of living organisms that populate our world and explores the myriad ways of sustaining a living organism. Students will study the very building blocks of life, including: DNA, cells and genetics, as well as studying the Biology of disease to see what can go wrong with the various life systems. Biologists try to understand every living organism we see around us, from the smallest bacterial cell to the largest mammal; from the tallest tree to microscopic algae. The course will apply learning to the study of the environment and offer insights into the biological effects of our living conditions.
