Developing effective communication: You will find out about important aspects of communication and put your own skills into practice. Equality, Diversity & Rights : You will focus on the concepts of diversity in society, as well as how and why we need to promote equality. Health, Safety & Security: You will learn how to identify potential hazards, relevant legislation and also how to deal with situations which may arise. Development through the life stages: You will investigate how humans develop and change during their lives. Physiological Disorders: You will look at disorders such as Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease and others. You will learn about signs and symptoms and the process of diagnosis as well as care pathways and support systems. Personal and Professional development: You will assess your own strengths and weaknesses and plan to enhance your progression. This will include your one day per week work experience. Psychological perspectives: You will gain an insight into the main psychological perspectives and how they apply to Health and Social Care. Promoting Health Education: You will work as part of a team to plan, organise and evaluate a Health Promotion Campaign in an area you are interested in. Research Methodologies: You will be given the opportunity to conduct your own piece of research and will be guided on how to reach conclusions in an area you choose.
